Sugar Lipsticks
Hello, readers!
Welcome back to my blog!
Today, I’ll be sharing some hand swatches and reviews of all the Sugar lipsticks in my vanity. I know that it’s a small stash but I’ll add more as soon as I can.
Sugar Nothing Else Matter Longwear Lipstick - 09 Royal Redding (Dark Red)
It retails at 499 INR for 3.5g of product.
- Pigmentation : Good but not the best at this price range
- Packaging : Classy and comfortable. No complaints there except for the fact that I would have preferred it if they had stuck the label with the expiry date at the bottom instead of the sides. It tends to fade easily on the sides.
- Texture : Completely matte
- Application : Not very smooth. It doesn’t glide as easily as we would prefer.
- Lasting effect : Long lasting but depends on what/how often you eat.
My personal opinions:
- Do I like it? Yeah, sure.
- Would I buy it again? Absolutely not. There are better lipsticks out there for a far lesser price.
It retails at 699 INR for 1.8g of product.
- Pigmentation : Highly pigmented.
- Packaging : Standard and neat.
#Pro tip - Keep the box. They haven’t written the expiry date anywhere else#
- Texture : Creamy matte
- Application : Very smooth and glides on your lips. Easy to apply.
- Lasting effect : As long lasting as creamy lip crayons get. You might have to reapply every 4 hours or so depending on what/how often you eat.
My personal opinions:
- Do I like it? Hell, yeah!
- Would I buy it again? If I find a shade of my liking on discount, then yes, absolutely.
#1 - 25 Very Mulberry (Deep Berry)
#2 - 17 Fiery Berry (Marsala)
#3 - 14 Teak Mystique (Warm Brown)
#4 - 37 Hot Apricot (Peachy Nude)
The mini lipsticks retail at 999 INR for a set of four, each of which contains 1.1 ml of product.
However, you can purchase them online for a reduced price of 799 INR after discount. You can choose four out of the 24 available minis which is a pretty good collection.
The full-size Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick retails at 549 INR for 4.5 ml of product. You can choose from a range of 52 shades which is awesome!
The other variant is the Smudge Me Not Lip-Duo which retails at 599 INR for 3.5 ml of product.
It is a 2-in-1 product which contains the liquid lipstick at one end and a lip gloss on the other. You can choose from a range of 20 shades.
I’m only going to review the minis as I haven’t tried the full-size variants yet.
- Pigmentation : Highly pigmented
- Packaging : It gets a teeny tiny bit weird here because the minis set comes in a metal box inside which you will find the four liquid lipsticks in separate cardboard boxes(again) on a surface of sponge. I found the cardboard boxes to be a bit wasteful as the lipsticks look classy enough without them. You’ll know what I mean if you see the pics.
- Texture : Extremely matte. But there’s a catch. They’re very drying. Like, impossible-to-use-without-lipbalm kind of drying. Sure, you can try to use it without a lip balm but it’s really bad for your lips regardless of the texture of your lips. The description itself recommends the use of a lip scrub and a lip balm before using the lipstick. Hence, you use a lip balm before applying the liquid lipstick after which the lipstick appears glossy instead of matte.
So is it really matte? That’s for you to decide.
- Application : Easy to apply as it is. But after applying a lip balm, I’d recommend you to use your fingers for a smooth and easy application.
- Lasting effect : It’s long-lasting for a glossy lipstick. I haven’t risked my lips by omitting a lip balm, so I can’t speak for the lasting effect of just the lipstick.
My personal opinions:
- Do I like it? As a glossy lipstick, yes, definitely.
- Would I buy the full-size product? Probably not. But I might buy a different set of minis along with the ones I like in the set I have now. As I don’t go out too often, I’m good with minis, I guess.
